Capital Execution and Center of Excellence (COE) Leader responsible
for advancing Chemours' capital project execution to deliver top
quartile capital portfolio performance to execute our company
strategy. This position will lead a centralized capital
organization that drives best-in-class project management, oversees
the company's capital portfolio, and ensures the development and
deployment of robust standards, tools, and talent across project
controls, scheduling, capital management competency, and
early-stage engineering. This position reports directly to the
Chief Enterprise Enablement Officer and will be a member of the
Chemours Enterprise Enablement leadership team.Working closely with
Business Unit (BU) leaders, Operations, Engineering, and
Procurement, the Capital Execution and COE Leader will champion a
culture of professional accountability, collaboration, and
continuous improvement, aligning all capital investment activities
to the company's Pathway to Thrive strategic objectives.The
responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to,
the following:Capital Portfolio & Project Management
- Develop and execute strategies to ensure capital planning and
execution is aligned with business strategy, delivers competitive
advantage, and provides exceptional value to Chemours
- Oversee the end-to-end management and lead a centralized
capital team to execute Chemours' capital portfolio, ensuring
alignment with short-term and long-term business strategies and
financial targets.
- Lead and provide direction to Regional Engineering Mangers and
their teams' site capital resources. Regional Engineering Managers
will have oversight for multiple sites; there will be several
positions in NA and one for each of the LA, EMEA & AP regions.
- Lead capital project governance and project prioritization
processes, ensuring timely, data-driven decisions and clear
accountability at every project phase.
- Champion safety as core value and embed that philosophy through
all stages, from project development through construction and
startup.
- Foster the application of flexible project management
methodologies, tailoring governance and execution approaches based
on project complexity, value, and risk.
- Enable effective resource scaling and allocation across the
capital portfolio, balancing in-house expertise and strategic
outsourcing.Capital Excellence Leadership
- Lead the Capital Excellence team responsible for project
controls, scheduling, capital management competency development,
front-end loading (FEL), engineering design, and contract
management processes.
- Drive the standardization and continuous improvement of project
management methodologies, digital tools (e.g., EcoSys), and best
practices across Chemours sites and BUs.
- Ensure robust project controls, cost estimating, risk
management, and scheduling disciplines are consistently applied to
all capital projects.
- Foster a culture of minimum functional essential mindset
focusing on pragmatic, value-driven solutions that support business
needs. Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and
benchmarking to assess and drive improvement in capital project
outcomes.Talent & Capability Development
- Develop resourcing strategies based on critical competencies
insourced and commodity services outsourced where it's cost
effective and logical.
- Champion talent development, mentoring, and knowledge transfer
across the capital organization, supporting succession planning and
career progression.
- Collaborate with HR and BU leaders to define roles,
responsibilities, and decision rights; ensure that the right skills
are developed and retained.Stakeholder Engagement & Change
Leadership
- Serve as a change agent to embed new ways of working and
continuous improvement into the capital project lifecycle.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders
(including BU operations, site teams, procurement, and
engineering), external engineering design and construction partners
and equipment suppliers to ensure alignment and buy-in.
- Lead communications and engagement activities to support
capital project initiatives and organizational change.Compliance &
Governance
- Ensure adherence to legal, safety, environmental, and corporate
governance standards throughout the capital project lifecycle.
- Maintain oversight of global procurement strategies for capital
projects, partnering with Procurement to optimize supplier
relationships, contract terms, and sourcing opportunities.The
following is required for this role:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
- 10+ years of progressive leadership in industrial capital
project management, with a demonstrated track record of managing
large, complex portfolios.
- Expertise in project controls, scheduling, and engineering
processes (FEL).
- Deep knowledge of project management methodologies, capital
portfolio management, and industry best practices.
- Strong business acumen and ability to align technical
initiatives with strategic objectives.
- Proven change leadership skills; experience driving cultural
and organizational transformation.
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and executive
stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to manage in a dynamic, matrixed environment and
oversee multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to travel to manufacturing sites as required.The
following is preferred for this role:
- Master of Business Administration (MBA).
- Experience with international project management .
- Candidates located near a major US Chemours Manufacturing site
