This job opportunity is within the Biomolecular Analysis Division (BAD) of the Diagnostics & Genomics Group (DGG).The position:Are you passionate about launching high-quality software?The Software Quality Engineer will join our BAD quality and regulatory team located in Waldbronn, Germany, and Ankeny, Iowa. These sites are home to an outstanding Technology and Development Team which is passionate about research, design and development of next generation products.The Software that the BAD team develops controls state of the art automated instruments for quality control of DNA, RNA or proteins and enables customers to analyze their data in a compliant environment.To be the successful candidate for this position you must be a self-motivated problem solver who takes a results-oriented approach, willing to take accountability and works well in a team environment. You will strive to ensure that high quality software solutions are designed, engineered, and manufactured in conformance with customer expectations as well as required standards and regulations.You will be supporting the forming of a software quality structure and directly reporting to the Quality Director of the BAD Quality and Regulatory Team.Roles and Responsibilities:Overseeing the product lifecycle processes and achieving high quality outcomesSupporting the definition of product requirements and developing verification and validation strategiesCoordinating with experts to understand the product and communicating the associated risksDeveloping the test strategy to improve test coverage, to support the development of test infrastructure and to create robust automation test suitesDriving improvements to upstream processes to increase the team s efficiency and enhance the quality of the productDesigning and developing automated tests and user-interface tests using various frameworksLogging, verifying and closing defects in JIRA for problems identified as software defectsPerforming analysis of test results and tracking risk levels during test executionWriting, reviewing, or approving Quality Plans, Test Plans and Test CasesProviding customer escalation supportMentoring team members and sharing best practicesProviding support for internal and external auditing and complianceRequired:A Bachelor s or Master s degree in Software Engineering, Business Informatics or equivalent4+ years of relevant experience in developing of QA processesExperience in working with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)Understanding of Software Project Lifecycles, test processes and tools such as JIRAProblem-solving skillsPreferred:Hands on experience with Developing Test Automation infrastructure (Jenkins pipelines/Virtual Machines)Hands on experience with one or more test automation tools (e.g Cypress.io/Jest/TestComplete/Playwright/WPF Testing)Hands on experience with coding languages like Type Script, C#, JavaScript, Python, VB ScriptHands on experience with source control systems like SVN/GitExperience in developing software for analytical measuring instruments, e.g. gel electrophoresis, liquid chromatographyExperience in quality requirements for medical devices and data integrity compliance and workflows (e.g. 21 CFR part 11, ISO13485)ISTQB CertificationExperience with instrument manufacturing quality control testsAgilent Technologies, Inc. is an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer.
