Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Deliver specialized care in a dynamic neonatal intensive care setting supporting vulnerable newborns. This travel opportunity is located in Des Moines, IA, at a respected childrens hospital specializing in complex pediatric cases. The NICU is a 42-bed unit with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:2 or 1:3, providing care for critically ill infants, including those with prematurity, respiratory distress or failure, and hypoglycemia. Qualifications / Desired Experience: Active RN license with NICU experience Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records system Skilled in administering vasopressors, sedation, and glucose at the bedside Ability to deliver high-quality, compassionate care in a fast-paced environment Strong communication skills and teamwork orientation Responsibilities: Provide direct nursing care to neonates requiring critical support Monitor vital signs and respond to changes in patient condition promptly Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans Administer medications including vasoactive drugs and sedation as prescribed Document all patient interactions accurately using EPIC EMR Participate in patient and family education and support Schedule/Hours: Full-time travel position with billable overtime after 40 hours per week Night and weekend shifts possible, with OT and holiday multipliers Call back and on-call pay provisions available Location Insight: Des Moines offers a balanced lifestyle with a blend of urban amenities and outdoor recreation.
