ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Des Moines, Iowa. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: OR - Operating Room - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 02/02/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 40 hours per week - Shift: 10 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - OR Job Details: • 2 years of current operating room experience required • Circulating and operating room experience required, scrub experience preferred • Must have strong cardiac, vascular, thoracic proficiency and general surgery experience • Additional experience highly preferred in daVinci robotics, pediatrics, trauma, neurology, orthopedics, gynecology, urology, transplants, plastics, ENT, and vascular procedures • EPIC electronic medical systems experience within previous 3 years required • Trauma Level I experience highly preferred • Must have completed a travel assignment within previous 12 months (no first-time travelers) • Scrub experience including open heart scrubbing highly preferred • Both scrub and circulate capabilities preferred • Patient ratio of 1:1 • Average 35-50 cases per day with expectation for turnovers less than 20 minutes • Work with specialized equipment including 3 daVinci robots, Stealth technology for neuro navigation, and primarily Synthes or Stryker for ortho trauma • On-call schedule up to 2 overnight shifts per week and 4 weekends per 13-week contract • Weekend call schedule from Friday 5:00 PM through Monday 6:30 AM • Required to float across all campuses including Iowa Methodist MC and Iowa Lutheran • Scrubs provided • BLS (AHA) certification required • Iowa nursing license required Facility: This healthcare facility operates as a Level 1 trauma center with 16 operating rooms, routinely running 12-14 suites while reserving space for trauma cases. The facility specializes in multiple service lines including cardiac/PV, neurology, orthopedics (primarily trauma), robotics, gynecology, urology, general surgery, pediatrics, transplants, with smaller volumes of ENT and plastic procedures.
