Job Description:
Employment Type: Part time Shift: Description: Under the
direction of the healthcare provider, the Certified Medical
Assistant (CMA) is responsible for delivering patient care that
prioritizes safety and wellbeing. This includes performing
preliminary physical tests, obtaining vital signs, and assisting
with medical procedures as directed by established clinical
protocols.Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general patient care in accordance with established
standards and procedures.
- Greet and prepare patients for healthcare provider
examination.
- Obtain and document vital signs, including blood pressure,
temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies,
current medications, and presenting problems.
- Draw and collect blood samples and prepare specimens for
laboratory analysis (if required).
- Administer medications and vaccines as directed (oral,
injection, topical, rectal, ophthalmic, or inhalant).
- Assist in routine tests, such as EKGs and other diagnostic
procedures.
- Schedule patients for diagnostic tests and ensure follow-up to
complete testing.
- Communicate test results and care plans to patients via phone
or mail as directed by the healthcare provider.
- Clean, sterilize, and maintain medical instruments and
equipment.
- Keep patient exam rooms clean, stocked, and organized; dispose
of contaminated items according to protocol.
- Document patient plans of care, test results, and examination
notes in medical records as directed by the healthcare
provider.
- Escalate non-routine issues or concerns to the practice manager
or healthcare provider(s).
- Complete safety checklists and quality control procedures as
required.
- Maintain patient privacy and safety at all times.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the practice manager,
MA Lead, or healthcare provider(s).Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current/valid Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered
Medical Assistant (RMA) certification.
- Completion of Medication Aide 40-hour course or current
Medication Aide certification by the state agency (if
applicable).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification
(or obtain within 3 months of hire).
- Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training
specific to the population served (within 3 months of hire).
- Specialized training such as Non-Certified Radiologic
Technician (NCT) may be required (if applicable). Our Commitment to
