About the role
DNV - Energy Systems Energy Management group is seeking a Program
Director to join our Energy Management team. Our team helps
commercial and industrial utility customers save energy and money.
The successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal and
organizational skills and will be responsible for a team of
administrative and outreach individuals, setting team goals, and
leading process improvement efforts for the program. This position
is based in our Des Moines, Iowa office.
This role is based at our DNV office in Des Moines, IA, presenting
a dynamic hybrid schedule where employees will typically spend
three (3) days per week working from either a DNV office or client
location/site. Further details regarding role-specific requirements
will be shared during the interview process.
What You'll Do
- Develop vision and goals for the team, in alignment with
Section- and Department-level Key Performance Indicators
(KPIs)
- Monitor project billing against internal and client budgets,
savings goals and resource utilization
- Gather intelligence and obtain a clear and comprehensive
understanding of the client's business issues and challenges
- Develop and implement an operations strategy that will meet
utility defined performance, financial, and energy efficiency
savings goals
- Monitor program results including energy savings, quality
assurance and develop recommendations to continuously improve the
program under ISO 9001 standards
- Monitor application data entry, database management, database
update and maintenance
- Implement outreach strategy to generate leads and support
market participants, guide outreach staff activity and
reporting.
- Ensure Distributors are trained and supported in the Program
Rules and Processes
- Assist managers with effective facilitation of team and client
meetings, including preparing agendas, taking minutes, tracking
action items, and proactively following up on action items
- Assist the marketing team and client to develop effective
campaigns and collateral to be used by Distributors

What is Required
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Minimum of 10 years of operational, staff management, or
project management experience in a technical environment,
preferably in a regulated industry (government and/or utility)
- Ability to work positively with the wide range of individuals
involved in program management
- Demonstrated success delivering complex programs within
budget
- Willingness and ability to travel, up to 10% of the time
- Strong communication skills as demonstrated by experience with
presentations, papers or other public forums; strong report-writing
skills
- We conduct pre-employment drug and background screening
What is Preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in business, engineering or technical
discipline preferred
- An energy efficiency background with a solid knowledge of
energy efficient technologies and practices is strongly
preferred.
- Technical Competencies
- Knowledge of commercial HVAC, commercial kitchen, and various
lighting technologies
- Knowledge of operational process workflows and manage through
operational metrics
- Intermediate Excel skills including, pivot tables, simple look
ups and graphing
- Intermediate MS Word skills, including working with document
templates
- Intermediate MS PowerPoint skills
- General Competencies
- Provide leadership through setting goals, delegating to utilize
employee strength, coaching, and fostering teamwork.
- Ensure field staff meet program, quality, and services
standards, implementing training plans or other measures to ensure
that staff is equipped to deliver expected results to our
customers.

- Able to work under tight deadlines
