JOB SUMMARY: Oversee the collection, analysis, use, and storage of data used to inform decision making and resource allocation to improve all college outcomes. Serve as a collaborating partner across academic affairs, student and enrollment services and management by providing leadership and strategic direction in supporting integrated, cohesive, and high-quality experiences for students and ensuring institutional compliance with accreditation standards and educational best practices. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Establish an institutional culture of consistently by requiring that data be used to inform decision-making and resource allocation to improve College outcomes, including student persistence and completion. Collaborate and consult with Vice Presidents, and other campus leaders to effect change based on data driven evidence and best-practice research. Provide data to support the development of evidence-based student success improvement plans, including targeted improvement goals, scaling timelines, and appropriate evaluation measures. Analyze cohort and other relevant snapshot data to diagnose academic deficits, momentum measures, leakage points, and performance gaps among student groups and throughout the College. Identify, timely collect, and pull information and data through a variety of researched effective methodologies and sources including DMACC's own systems. Understand the capability of the system to collect and store information and recommend changes as necessary. Recommend, administer and collect qualitative and quantitative surveys appropriate to the College. Consult, coordinate, conduct and monitor DMACC's use of surveys for gathering data through various methodologies about students, faculty and staff. Recommend and administer the appropriate tools and surveys to assist with benchmarking. In coordination with the President and Vice Presidents (VPs), identify appropriate groups and key measures for comparative analyses and benchmarking efforts. Meet regularly with the President and VPs to discuss data findings. Conduct Data Summits, presentations, and other meetings to engage the broader college and community in courageous conversations about student outcomes and performance gaps among groups. Analyze, synthesize, and present data in ways that tell "stories" about students and their challenges as well as their success, progression, and completion outcomes. Prepare disaggregated, longitudinal student cohort data for success indicators. Assess outcomes of the new-student (first-year and transfer) experience and overall student experience. Conduct both formative and summative assessment of interventions. Develop a comprehensive evaluation plan to track and measure intervention results. Recommend appropriate changes. Facilitate the collection, analysis, and interpretation of institutional data and other evidence to support planning and decision-making. Interpret and prepare concise data tables, graphs, data briefs, scorecards, dashboards, and research reports to promote college wide accessibility to data. Establish Institutional Effectiveness presence on internet and intranet to increase transparency of data and availability of resources. Oversee the budgets for planning, assessment, institutional and specialized accreditation processes. Supervise, direct, and develop positions within the Department including assessment, research, and data reporting. Direct staff to collaborate and coordinate with Academic and Student and Enrollment Services about essential learning outcomes. Provide consultation and decision support services as necessary to all units of the-College. Collaborate with the Grants office on funding opportunities related to student success and academic affairs. Administer College funded mini grants toward the objective of continuous improvement. Establish institutional planning and effectiveness practices in accordance with best practices in the field. Provide oversight and leadership of the College's institutional accreditation ensuring that DMACC meets the HLC's and Iowa Department of Education criteria for accreditation and assumed practices. Collaborate with faculty leaders to gather data, write, and submit institution's assurance argument and federal compliance documents. Serve as the administrative liaison for specialized accreditations. Align accreditation and DMACC's strategic planning. Share student success objectives with appropriate VPs and appropriate campus community units and member. Provide guidance and support on how the objectives will be accomplished. Work with appropriate faculty and other governance committees toward achievement of student success and student learning objectives. Perform other duties as assigned. Job Requirements:REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in education or related field. - Seven years of progressively responsible experience in the fields of institutional effectiveness, student success, assessment practices, strategic planning, data analysis, and policy development including experience as a supervisor. Knowledge of current issues in higher education. Excellent communication skills including written and oral (presentations). Exceptional judgment and discretion. Ability to handle ambiguous and complex situations. -Demonstrated competence in budget planning and management. -Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the comprehensive community college philosophy. -Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a professional working relationship with a wide variety of individuals coming from diverse backgrounds. -Knowledge of current software applications.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Doctorate in education or related field.Experience in qualitative and quantitative research, including using data accessing tools to access information from large data bases. -Experience with -SAS -and Banner.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: - Constant:
